Ann Marie's Istanbul

Curious about my years in Istanbul? Already accustomed to writing a weekly newspaper column, I transferred my writing yen to a weekly missive that eventually became this blog. Originally just sent as e-mail messages to a large group of readers, I started the blog midway through my second year when fellow teacher Leigh Newton sat me down and taught me how to post a blog.

If you'd like a glimpse of my life overseas, just click here or on the clip to the left and you'll zoom right there. Lots of great photos, I must admit.

Enjoy!

A Writer's Angst

As I struggled to finish my memoir, find an agent, and eventually publish the book on my own, I began a new blog focused on the writing process.

This is a new effort, one I hope to continually update as I navigate this daunting road to publication.

The head photo is a panoramic view of Istanbul from the Asian side near the Princess' Tower. As you can see, it's a very modern city. I spent many hours trekking from the Asian to the European side on the famous Istanbul ferries.
